Sad!!! Parents killed their 11-years old child!!!

This little boy's biological father and his step mother killed him in broad day light. They starved him for 3 weeks such that he had to start eating pieces of mattress and plastic, no water to drink. According to the story, a neighbor saw this strange creature moving and trying to leave the house, but the mother just pushed it back inside. This raised concern, and she called the other neighbors and then they called in the Police.

They tried to bathe him, but no way. The boy vomited pieces of mattresses and plastic, cried for water to drink, and then died, leaving the entire community in shock.

According to the mother of the child, she and this Emmanuel Brown person [name of biological father] were together for about 10 years. She had this child and other children for him. They later broke up and went separate ways. However, Emmanuel requested that the child be with him, which she agreed to. The child has been living with the father and his step mother up to the day they killed him. They are now in Police custody.

So you mean in this time and age we still have witches living among us in Monrovia? This happened right within the Paynesville community. This is very barbaric and the parents need to face the law.

Pray: Lord, lead temptation not through me [Day Na Break Devotional : February 12 - 18]

Day Na Break [weekly] Devotional (February 12 - 18)

Pray: Lord, lead temptation not through me [ Luke 17:1-4 ]

By Guladia

This is a major prayer point every Christian should have on their prayer list every single day. This may look common, but it is very serious! Lord, lead temptation not through me. God has promised disaster for anyone through whom His children get tempted and sin.

When you pray, Lord, lead temptation not through me, what you're saying in effect is that Lord, please do not allow the devil to use me; Lord, please let me not be the conduit of somebody's temptation; Lord, please do not allow me to be the transporter of temptation for somebody; Lord please let me not serve as a means of transportation for somebody's temptation. See, the consequences of temptation passing through you are so terrible! The Bible says in Luke 17:1-4 that woe unto you through whom temptation comes. It goes on to say that it would have been better for you if you were not born. Imagine how sad it is that you are alive and God says woe unto you. Imagine you are alive and God says it would have been better if you were mot born. Imagine that! Which means you're just one insignificant being roaming the earth. That's a sad life.

The interesting thing about life is that things that cause people to sin are bound to come, according to Luke 17:1. This means that as long as the sun rises and sets, people will get tempted. Things that tempt people to sin will occur on the face of the earth. However, do not be the one through whom temptation will come. If you happen to be the one through whom these things happen, the Bible says, "Woe to that person through whom they come".

It goes even further to say that the kind of fate you would suffer is far more horrible than when a millstone was tired around your neck and you get drown in the ocean. Imagine when a stone is tied around your neck and you are thrown into the ocean, it means that you would sink deep into the ocean and die there, but your body will never be found because you won't float up again. You know, when a person gets drown in the ocean, the body gets found because the dead body becomes light and floats at the top of the waters and the water washes the body to shore. But with a big stone tied to your body, your body won't float up. Stones don't float.

So when you are faced with the decisions to tempt anybody and to have a millstone tied around your neck, choose the millstone. That is what Luke 17:2 says: "It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin." So watch yourselves.

Rev. Joseph Gardea Johnson, III receives 'Clergy Man Of The Year' Award

It was a Sunday of Honor for the Restoration Baptist Ministries in Monrovia. February 7, 2021, the first Sunday in February, opened very bright for the church as a whole. The Senior Pastor of the church, Rev. Joseph Gardea Johnson, III, was honored by the Women Voices, a print media outlet in Liberia. They honored the works of the Reverend with a "Clergy Man of the Year" Award.

The media outlet, in the absence of it's head, Mrs. Hellen G. Nahn - Sammie was represented by a staff who delivered the Award to Rev. Johnson. During the honoring ceremony, which took place in the regular worship service, she affirmed her institution's trust and confidence in the works and activities of the Pastor: "We [women Voices] don't just write on people, we also monitor your activities", she expressed.

Upon receipt of the accolade, Rev. Johnson said, " I am honored to receive this because I know your work." He then made reference to five other awards which he had earlier been honored with, but rejected two. His rejection, according to the Reverend, was based on the fact that that certain key and corrupt actors within the body politics of the country should not be running media institutions. He made it clear that they are the custodians of integrity, therefore, he cannot cuff his conscience by accepting any awards from people who lack credibility, if any such award/honor is bestowed upon him. Though he seemed unclear in pointing out those outlets, the Reverend hailed the team from Women Voices and received the award with proud.

In continuation of the joy of the Sunday, the Restoration Baptist Church was blessed with an awestruck gift. The Scott Family, headed by Mr./Mrs. Randall Scott, offered to the church and to the glory of God a special gift. The gift, when unveiled, was a brand new set of choir gowns that were given to the church's choir.

The beautiful gowns, designed with dominant white and glittering pieces of gold on both the hands and chest areas, and a very visible bold RBM in the front, an abbreviation for Restoration Baptist Ministries, were received with so much joy by the entire congregation. Though described by the Scott Family as a "little gift", those gowns are spectacular. "We just want to give this little gift to the church", said Mrs. Scott as the family made the very generous presentation.

The Senior Pastor of the church appreciated the family for the gift. He then promised that the choir will no longer enter the sanctuary of the Lord without wearing their gowns, as the Scott's offer brings to four the total sets of gowns the choir now has.

For their part, the choir received the gowns with so much joy and sang gracefully to the Lord, as they were being gowned by selected members of the congregation.

Repent...FLEE! Avoid! Cut it Off! [Day Na Break Devotional : February 5 - 11]

Day Na Break [weekly] Devotional (February 5 - 11, 2021)

Repent...FLEE! Avoid! Cut it Off! [ Matthew 5:29-30; Romans 6:12-13]

Listen, people of God, you cannot clean yourself and go back into sin. You cannot repent and then go right back into sin. You cannot go to church, go for the altar call, only to go back and fall into mud again. See, you cannot do that. Jesus died for our sins so we can live better, clean, righteous lives.

Let us avoid sin as much as we can. The Bible even says we should 'cut off' sin, such that even if the thing that is making us to sin is a part of our body, we should cut it off! Can you begin to imagine? That is how much we need to avoid things that make us sin. Matthew 5:29-30: "If your right eye causes you to stumble,l gouge it out and throw it awayIt is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hellAnd if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it awayIt is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell."

Imagine this: A woman took a tub full of dirty white clothes to wash. After washing the clothes so clean, she hung them on lines that were tied to rotten sticks. Within no time, all the clothes fell on the ground and got dirty more than how they were before she washed them. She was so frustrated that she had to go wash all those clothes all over again.
Read Matthew 12:43-45. When a demon is cast out, the demon go searching for where to dwell. When it roams about and cannot find a place to settle, it goes to check back on where it was cast out from. When it finds out that the place is still conducive for it to dwell, it would now go and invite seven more demons to come join it. Now, the person becomes more demon-possessed than when the one demon was cast out.
You cannot go on the mountain and go through a fast for 3 days, 7 days, 14, 21, or 40 days only for you to come out and go drag yourself back into mud. Avoid shaky grounds!!! Do not hang your clothes on any rope that is tied on rotten sticks! If you do that, you will spend all your resources, energy, and strength to wash your clothes so clean, only for them to fall down in mud and get dirty even more than before.
You want to stay clean after days, weeks, months of consecration and sanctification. Avoid shaky grounds!
Read Romans 6:12-13: "Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness."

- Avoid listening to rotten kinds of music that promote immorality, drugs abuse, and all kinds of vices in society - Rotten sticks! Avoid them.
- Avoid rotten kinds of movies, pornographies, and the likes...where all kinds of evil activities are being promoted. Rotten sticks! avoid them so you do not fall into the mud of sexual sin and all kinds of perverse behavior. Why do you think the evil spirit would come back and go find 7 more and come in your body? Because after the demon was cast out of your body, you played around rotten sticks, so your system became conducive again to accommodate demons!
-Avoid rotten friends with their bad companies. Avoid them! If you cannot change them, flee from them before they change you. Rotten sticks!! The Bible made no mistake when it said FLEE! Flee and keep praying for them.
-Avoid going to those rotten places and be talking about, "Oh, I will just go buy my soft drink and drink it and go home." No, no, no...don't go there. You will see rotten things that may drag you. If you're not going there for evangelism purposes, do not go sit there and drink soft drink at all. If you cannot find a clean, decent, Faith-based place for refreshment, go buy your soft drink from the community shop and go drink it in you house. Avoid rotten sticks!
Do not hang your rope on rotten sticks. Do not hang your clothes on any rope that is tied to rotten sticks. Your clean clothes will all fall down in the mud and get dirty more than they were before you washed them. Replace all those rotten things with the Word of God, constant prayers, and fellowship with other believers of Christ [Heb 10:24-25].
God bless you.

Criminals stealing newly installed light poles risk being arrested

It has been reported that some unscrupulous people are in the habit of stealing the newly constructed light poles in Liberia. They go about and unscrew the knots and then take the poles away. This is an issue of serious national concern!

These lights were quite recently dedicated by the President of the Republic of Liberia, H.E. George Manneh Weah to beautify the city [Monrovia], ease transportation at night and cut down criminal activities at night. The work is still ongoing, as the project is being extended to the Johnsonville Community.

The Liberia National Police has termed those involved with such acts as Anti-Development Agents and has vowed to arrest anyone caught in the act. The LNP has also asked the public to call 0770800911 or 0770800990 when they see anyone unscrewing the knots and stealing the light poles.

Who steals lights meant for development in a nation? This is really bad and such a shame!

FAITH: The Gateway to our RESTORATION [Day Na Break Devotional : January 29 - February 4]

FAITH: The Gateway to our RESTORATION [John 14:12; Matthew 17:20; 21:21; Mark 11:22-24]

By: Guladia

We have declared that this is our Year of RESTORATION. What we need to now understand is that the gateway to our RESTORATION is FAITH. We learned last week that all we need to do is believe. We are pushing this further. Faith is the gateway to all of this.

Now, what is faith? Hebrews did a good job at defining faith for us in chapter 11 and verse 1. Faith is when we believe that something is possible even when we have not seen any sign that that thing is possible. When we believe in what we have not seen yet. It's like when we go to the hospital with a certain problem and the doctor tells us that something called Galvus Metformin or Hydrochlorothiazide can solve our problems, for instance. Even though we may have no idea what those things are, neither can we even pronounce the names of those things, we take them with the believe that our problems will be solved. That is the kind of faith we need to put in God, the Almighty, for our total RESTORATION in this life. In fact, more than just that kind of faith because sometimes issues concerning medication ends up as trial and error. Faith in God is sure.

See, with faith, we can receive and do ANYTHING. With faith, we can do exploits. Many people received their healing from Jesus based on their faith. This week, we are going to reflect on stories of some people who received their RESTORATION based on their FAITH.

Restoration has to do with regaining things we once had but lost for some reason. In order to be RESTORED, we must have faith that it is possible. Jesus healed [RESTORED] many people when he was on earth. However, most of those people received total RESTORATION based on their faith.

The story is told of a woman who suffered some kind of bleeding problem for about 12 years [Mark 5:25-34]. She did all she could to get well, but to no avail. She went from one great doctor to another. She only got worst, according to the story. Then she heard about Jesus Christ, the great Physician. She purposed in her heart that she would meet this man. Without even seeing the man, she already had faith that she could receive her healing from Jesus. Upon arriving at the place where Jesus was, she met a huge obstacle. The crowd was just so much!! There were so many people after Jesus for so many different things. Being that she arrived a bit late, she had no way of getting to meet Him. Some would get discouraged right away and turn back or decide, 'You know what? I'll do this another day.' Not this woman, tho. This obstacle only increased her faith. She went like, 'ok, so there is so huge a crowd that I may not be able to meet Jesus? Well, I do not have to meet Him...He doesn't have to speak to me or even touch me. I will do the touching. What I will do is that I will fight to just touch Him.' Then the crowd again. How can she get close to Him to touch Him with all these people? Her faith increased again one more notch. She went like, 'ok, so I may not be able to touch His body. Not to worry. If I can even touch the hem of His garment, I know I will be made whole.' That was the barest minimum. Her faith pushed her into accepting even the barest minimum for her total RESTORATION. Never allow obstacles to diminish your faith. If anything, let the obstacle serve as a ladder your faith can use to climb higher.

Just a touch of the tip of Jesus' clothes, she thought to herself, and I will be made whole! So she kept pressing on until she was able to stretch her hand and touched the hem [tip] of Jesus' garment. The Bible says, IMMEDIATELY!!! Yes, immediately her bleeding stopped [Mark 5:29]. Abba Father is King!! Amen!

The story goes on that at that very moment, Jesus noticed that power had left Him. Though there were many people touching Jesus, Jesus recognized and singled out that one 'touch' from that woman. He asked, 'who touched me?' Not that Jesus didn't know who touched Him, but that woman's faith needed to be publicly recognized so that all those around would hear of it and so that we who were not around then can hear and even be able to write about it. There was something about how she got whole that connected her to that question. So she came forth and presented herself. Another beautiful part about this story is that she who was so far away from meeting Jesus, she who was unable to reach close to Jesus, she who was struggling only to touch the hem of Jesus' garment, was now lying at His feet and having a face-to-face conversation with the Master. Amen! Jesus called her Daughter and set her free from her suffering: "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering." [Mark 5:34]. Faith for total RESTORATION is what this woman exhibited.

Before Jesus healed the two men who cried out to Him, he asked them, "Do you believe I can do this?" When they answered in the affirmative, Jesus touched their eyes and said to them, may it be done to you according to your faith. If they didn't have faith, of course, they wouldn't have received their RESTORATION. In this instance, those two blind men got healed because of their faith. [Matthew 9:27-30]

Faith for RESTORATION: A Canaanite woman went crying to Jesus to rescue her daughter who was demon-possessed. Now follow this [Matthew 15:22-28]:

Canaanite Woman: Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession.
Jesus at first didn't answer her. However, she kept crying behind them that Jesus' disciples asked Him to send her away because she was very persistent. Jesus then responded:

Jesus: I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

At this point, the woman came and knelt down before Jesus:

Canaanite Woman: Lord, help me!

Jesus: It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.

Canaanite Woman: Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumps that fall from their masters' table.

This kind of faith moved Jesus to the point where He could no longer hesitate. He had to give her what she asked for immediately!

Jesus: Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.
That Canaanite woman's daughter was healed instantly!

At another point in time, Jesus was preaching at home in Capernaum. So many people gathered in the house and the place was over crowded. Some people brought a paralytic for Jesus to heal. The house was so jammed that even the door way has jammed with people. There was no way to pass through the door. The people had so much faith that Jesus could heal their relative and nothing was going to stand in their way. They then went over the building and made an opening through the roof of the house and lowered the sick man down so that he could receive his healing. The Bible says in Mark 2:5 that Jesus saw their faith..."and Jesus saw their faith, he healed the man!" Amen!! Faith for total RESTORATION.

When Jesus was leaving Jericho, a blind man called Bartimaeus cried out for help. When Jesus gave him audience, Jesus asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?" Blind Bartimaeus replied, "Rabbi, let me recover my sight." Jesus didn't even touch the man. He rather said to him, "Go your way, your faith has made you well." Immediately Bartimaeus recovered his sight! [Mark 2:46-52].

Now, we make reference to the story we shared last week when Jesus resurrected Lazarus from the dead. That process was based on faith. Jesus said to Lazaru's sister, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?"[John 11:40]

Jesus got to Judea four days AFTER Lazarus had died and was buried. Four days in the grave!! When Jesus got there, Martha, one of the sisters of Lazarus, went to meet Jesus on the way. The conversation that ensued between them both was very interesting [John 11:21-27]:
Martha: "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died." [She was quick to add] "But I know that even now, God will give you whatever you ask."
Jesus: "Your brother will rise again."
Martha: "I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."
Jesus: "I am the resurrection and the life. He who BELIEVES in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never did. Do you BELIEVE this?"
Martha: "Yes, Lord. I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God who was to come into the world." FAITH for total RESTORATION!

That was all Jesus needed. Jesus then moved towards the grave of Lazarus. He ordered that the stone be rolled away from the grave. This same Martha came in with an interjection..."But Lord, by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days." Jesus said these words, very important. Jesus said: "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?"[John 11:40] Then Jesus commanded the four days old dead, rotten body of Lazarus [John 11"43b]: "Lazarus, come out!" Now, that was a COMMAND!!! And the dead obeyed and came out of the grave!!! Praise the Lord!! FAITH for total RESTORATION!!!

One may say that all these things were possible because Jesus Himself was on the earth and involved with the RESTORATION process. True! However, Jesus left that power here on earth with us. Jesus said that anyone, not some people, but ANYONE who has FAITH in Him will do what He did on this earth...and "He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father" [John 14:12], and we know that Jesus has already assured us that as long as He is with the Father, we can receive anything we ask the Father for in the name of Jesus.

We know this is true because after Jesus left, Peter healed the lame man at the Gate of Beautiful. Peter said to him that he did not have silver or gold to satisfy his begging, but what he had he would give him..."In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!" [Acts 3:6]. That was it. The man was healed. We have the power to do all what Jesus did. Peter said that was made possible by FAITH in the name of Jesus [Acts 3:16]. Peter also raised the dead, according to Acts 9:36-43. Peter was in Lydda, a place that was not far from Joppa, where a certain disciple named Dorcas had died. The other believers sent for Peter from Lydda. When he got there, the people told him how good Dorcas was and they wanted her back on earth with them. Peter was taken upstairs, where the dead body was. After praying to God, through the name of Jesus, of course, Peter raised Dorcas from the dead and gave her back to her people!! We can do the same today. FAITH for RESTORATION!

All we need to have is FAITH, even as tiny as a benniseed [mustard seed]. We can cast out any mountain standing in the way of our RESTORATION [Matthew 17:20; 21:21; Mark 11:22-24]. With FAITH, we can speak life back into any situation. With FAITH, we can be RESTORED fully, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth!!

God bless you.
